Description
A New Zealand Long and Efficient Service Medal. The silver plated medal features an imperial crown with a crossed sword and sceptre on the obverse. " N. Z. " is marked below this design The design is flanked by a wreath of oak leaves and wattle. Four stars, representing the Southern Cross, are spaced in the field. " FOR / LONG / AND / EFFICIENT SERVICE " is marked on the reverse. "SERGT MAJOR E ARMITAGE STAFF 4TH BATT WELLN (TARANAKI) RIFLE VOLS. (1908) is marked on the edge. It is attached to a crimson white white stripes down the centre. The ribbon is attached to a simple suspension ring.
