Copy photograph of original full-length portrait of Lieutenant Colonel St Clair. St Clair is standing with his left leg slightly bent at the knee. He is wearing miitary uniform and has two medals pinned on his left side. He is holding a sword on his left. There is a large draped curtain behind him on the left. The photograph is included on page 38 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
