An Ashantee Medal. The silver medal features a veiled left facing profile of Queen Victoria. " VICTORIA REGINA " is embossed around the profile. The reverse features a jungle skirmish between British soldiers and Ashantee warriors. " COOMASSIE " is embossed on a clasp which attaches the medal to a light orange and black striped ribbon. "1290 PTE. T. CUNNINGHAM. 2 BN. RIFLE BDE. 1873-4" is marked on the edge. The ribbon is mounted on cardboard.
