Description
A Khedive's Star. The bronze five pointed star features a circular centre with the Sphinx and pyramids pictured. " EGYPT 1882 " is marked around the edge of the circle. The lower part of the band is embossed in Arabic " KHEDIVE OF EGYPT " with the appropriate date. The reverse features the monogram inscription of Khedive Tewfik Pasha of Egypt surmounted by a crown and surrounded by a circle. The star is suspended from a dark blue ribbon by an ornamental clasp with a star and crescent in the centre. The ribbon is mounted on cardboard. The Star was awarded to James Crone, originally from Ireland.
