Production date

Description
Colour photograph showing the construction of the new Te Henui rail bridge at East End Reserve, 1963. A large crane can be seen on top of the bridge with several workers standing in a group left of centre and three more visible on the bridge on the right. A black train is approaching the bridge from the left. The bank below the bridge has been partially cleared of vegetation. The Te Henui River is seen in the foreground with people gathered and climbing along a lower bridge made of concrete blocks and round pipes.
The new bridge replaced a 53-year old wooden bridge.
