Powelliphanta sp. It is a large snail shell. The shell is medium-dark brown colour with no pattern. There is some rust coloured grime on the shell. An old accession number is written in white on the the top side "A83.297".

They eat earthworms which they slurp up like spaghetti. They also eat slugs and some insects. They are endangered species endemic to New Zealand. Habitat loss and predation hugely affect the populations. Little known about the lives of these snails.
