Powelliphanta sp. A snail shell of a large carnivorous land snail. It is a light brown colour with dark brown bands. The bottom side is darker than the duller top side. There is a small square of white tape with the letter I. on it.

They eat earthworms which they slurp up like spaghetti. They also eat slugs and some insects. They are endangered species endemic to New Zealand. Habitat loss and predation hugely affect the populations. Little known about the lives of these snails.
