Description
A Sardinia issue Turkish Crimea War medal mounted on a simple suspension ring. The obverse features a cannon, weapons and the four allied flags " LA CRIMEA / 1855 " is marked near the bottom of the medal. The reverse features the Toughra (seal or signature) of Sultan Abd al-Mejid. " 3188 PTE. T. BISHOP. 57TH REGT. " is marked on the edge of the medal. The ribbon is crimson with green edging. It is mounted as part of a medal group of four.

A veteran of the 57th Regiment, Bishop served in the Crimean War and the Taranaki Wars and served in the Taranaki Bush Rangers and at Pukearuhe. He later lived in Urenui.
