Object detail

Credit line
This is a small species of land snails. They are carnivorous. This species has been discovered to bite the head of other snails and then carry them away on the back of their foot. The tail secretes a liquid that dissolves the snail flesh and calcium. They are re found in damp leaf litter and rock piles in unmodified forest. This makes them susceptible to habitat modification and predation.
