Description
Colour transparency slide showing the runway-side of the New Plymouth airport terminal building during construction. The runway in front of the buiding is unsealed and there is a road roller on the left. There are powerlines running in front of the terminal building and construction equipment and scaffolding can be seen beside the building on the right. The image was taken in low light.

The new airport replaced an old grass airfield in Bell Block and opened in 1966.
