Sticky Filth are a New Plymouth band who have been recording and performing hardcore punk for over 25 years continuously. First formed in 1985, they have released four full-length albums, including Stainless; EPs and compilations; while maintaining a punishing touring schedule. The band has played at numerous festivals around the country, supported international acts such as Motorhead and been a part of the local music scene (including band members featuring at Puke Ariki cultural events). In 2010 two of the band members were seriously injured in separate accidents, but both recovered and the band continues to be a feature in the New Zealand live music scene.
