Scaup
Description
Aythya novaeseelandiae. New Zealand Scaup. A dark brown duck. It has a slight chestnut colour to the chest and round to the sides by wings. There is a white marking on the flight feathers of the wings. It has orange webbed feet. The beak is short and wider than many other ducks. The head is darker than the rest of the body.
