Specimen, Bird

Description
Goura species. Common Name: Crowned pigeon.
The specimen is of the head of one of three species of the Goura genus. Without the body it is difficult to place into a species. It appears to be likely to be either the southern crowned pigeon or western crowned pigeon, both from New Guinea.
The head is a blue-grey colour with dark blue band around the eyes. The crown is composed of long lacy feathers.
