 Description
A small bronze medallion commemorating the Taranaki Rugby Football Union's 50th jubilee in 1935. The obverse of the medallion has an image of Mount Taranaki in the centre with a rugby ball underneath. Across the centre of these images is a band with the word " JUBILEE " embossed between the image of the mountain and the rugby ball. Around the outside in a band are the embossed words " TARANAKI RUGBY FOOTBALL UNION / 1885 - 1935 ". At the top of the medallion is a small loop with a free moving ring attached.

This little medallion was issued along with a commemorative booklet to celebrate the Taranaki Rugby Football Union's 50th jubilee. Although the Union was officially begun in 1889, Taranaki first developed a touring rugby team in 1885, and it was decided that this would be the date to mark the beginning of official rugby in Taranaki.
