A French Combatants Cross (Croix du Combattant) The bronze cross features a left facing helmeted woman with a laurel wreath symbolising the French Republic. " REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE " is marked around the edge which is surrounded by a laurel wreath. The reverse features a sword facing point down at the centre with rays behind the handle. " CROIX DU COMBATTANT " is marked under the sword. The design is enclosed by a laurel wreath. The cross is attached to a light blue and orange vertically striped ribbon.
