Description
Lampona murina (White tailed spider). Spider tied to piece of glass and stored in a glass jar with a white lid. The jar is filled with 70% ethanol. The spider has red legs, light brown abdomen and a dark brown thorax.

There are two species of white tail spiders in NZ. Lampona cylindrata was once thought to be the only one and widespread but this is now known from Nelson region. The widespread species is L. murina.
