Glass plate negative showing Seacliff Lunatic Asylum. The asylum is in the background behind a row of trees. In the foreground there is a path leading to a wooden gate on the right. Along the edge of the path there are trees. Behind the trees the roof and some of the upper floors of the Seacliff Lunatic Asylum are visible. The building is neo-gothic style. It has a steep pitched roof. Towards the left side of the roof there is a large turret with a spire. Along the edge of the roof there are chimmneys and each corner has a turret.
