Credit line
The platypus is found in Australia. They are semiaquatic living in burrows but feeding in the fresh streams and ponds catching invertebrates. They are egg-laying one of only 3 species left in the world that does this. The rubbery bill contains electroreceptors for detecting food via electrolocation. Males ankle spurs produce venom which is powerful enough to kill small animals.
