Ardenna tenuirostris: The upper surface is a sooty black. The under surface is a sooty brown colour. It is stuffed and mounted in a squat-like position with the wings folded against the body. There are no eye exposing the white stuffing.

One of the most numerous shearwater species with an estimated 23 million birds. They breed on islands of Australia. They can be seen at sea of New Zealand coast. They are smaller than the sooty shearwaters which they are often mistaken for.
