A Military Cross. The silver ornamental cross has straight arms which terminate with broad finials that each feature an imperial crown. The cypher of King George V features at the centre. It is attached to a ribbon of three equal stripes of white, dark purple, and and white by a plain silver suspension bar. It is mounted as part of a medal group of three.
This Military Cross was awarded to Dr Rex Carrington Brewster of New Plymouth in 1919. He embarked with the 12th Reinforcements New Zealand Medical Corps, No. 2 Field Ambulance Reinforcements on 6 May 1916 and served as a medical officer in Palestine.
