Description
A New Zealand Medal. The silver medal features a left facing profile of Queen Victoria on the obverse. " VICTORIA D:G:BRITT:REG:F.D " is marked around the edge of the profile. A wreath is featured on the reverse with " NEW ZEALAND VIRTUTIS HONOR " marked around the edge of it. "J.H. BROOKS, NO. 1 COY. TARANAKI RIFLE VOLS." is marked on the edge of the medal. The medal is attached to a blue ribbon with a central red stripe by a straight suspension bar ornamented with fern leaf designs. The ribbon is mounted on a firm base.
