A long beam- like piece of schist. It is mixed black and white in colour. It is formed from flat sheet-like grains layered on top of each other.

platy

elongated
minerals,
interleaved
with
quartz
and
feldspar.
It
can
often
appear
to

shiny

can
sometimes

seen
with
the
naked
eye.
