A dried skin of an Enchidna. It contains the spines which are black and orange in colour. Around the edges of the skin is brown fur.

The
encidna
is
an
Australian
monotreme.
This
means
that
it
lays
eggs
which
is
unique
to
only
a
few
mammals
in
Australia
and
New
Guniea.
They
eat
ants
and
termites
though
are
not
related
to
ant
eaters.
This
specimen
is
thought
to
be
the
short-beaked
enchinda
species
and
is
the
only
species
known
from
its
genus.
