Description
A boxed Baby Jim 'comic' quoits game. The game consists of a cardboard, football playing elephant figure which can be slotted into a red painted wooden base which is mounted in the bottom of the box. This bottom is divided into four and coloured blue, yellow, green and red and numbered '1, 2, 3, 4' Six cardboard quoits, two red, two green and two blue, are also included. The top of the box features a drawing of the football playing elephant on a bright yellow background. " BABY JIM / Spear's / Comic / Quoits " is marked on the lid. " MADE IN / ENGLAND / SPEAR'S GAMES / MANUFACTURED AT THE SPEAR WORKS, ENFIELD, ENGLAND " is marked in small text near the bottom of the lid. The interior of the lid is headed " Baby Jim" and provides detailed rules and scoring details. This text begins: " As happy as a sandboy is Baby Jim with his football Stand him up in his box and see if you can throw the rings over his trunk or ball. It isn't so very difficult, so fire away and try..."
