Star, 1914-15

Description
A 1914-15 Star. The bronze crowned four pointed star also features crossed swords and a wreath of oak leaves with the royal cypher at the foot. " 1914-15 " is embossed on a central scroll. Inscribed "10/725, TPR. R. MARETT. / N. Z .E . F." The star is attached to a watered red, white and blue striped ribbon by a simple ring.

This star was awarded to Private Robert Marett, of Stratford. Marett embarked on the 16 October 1914 with the Wellington Infantry Battalion and was killed in action on the Somme, France on 29 June 1916.
