Description
Glass plate negative showing the Gables colonial hospital. The building is Tudor style with a steep pitched roof. On the roof there are two chimneys. On the grass in front of the building there are planks of wood. To the left of the building is a work bench.
The Gables hospital was built in the late 1840s. It was purchased by Mary King in the early 1900s, and moved to Brooklands to be used as their family home. Later it was also used by the extended family during visits or while homes were being renovated.
