A 1914-15 Star. The bronze crowned four pointed star also features crossed swords and a wreath of oak leaves with the royal cypher at the foot. "1914-15" is embossed on a central scroll. ""24/1401 R.F.L.M. P.W. JAMES N.Z.E.F." " is marked on the reverse. The star is attached to a watered red, white and blue striped ribbon by a simple ring and is mounted as part of a medal group of three.
Percy James enlisted in Rahotū, Taranaki and embarked with F Company of the 2nd Reinforcements to 2nd Battalion, New Zealand Rifle Brigade on 13 November 1915.
