Part of a series called 'The Last of the Milk and Honey', Jennifer Laracy’s necklace 'Fountainhead' uses cow horns to make cornucopias, ancient symbols of prosperity and abundance. The horns flow forth with resin-coated seaweed. This combination of materials introduces both our land and marine resources and encourages us to ponder the balance between New Zealand’s economic prosperity and environmental wellbeing.

Jennifer Laracy was born in Wellington, but has lived and worked in Taranaki as a jeweller since 2005. e studied at Whitireia Community Polytechnic (visual arts) and at Quoil Contemporary Jewellery Gallery in Wellington. Her work is strongly informed by her life on a rural Taranaki farm, particularly the intensity of the farming lifestyle and also her simultaneous role as a mother. All her work is hand crafted and each piece is unique - nothing is mass produced.
