A set of 16 samples from the Number 6 bore of the Samuels Syndicate wells, near Moturoa. The samples are stored in metal tins and glass jars. 13 samples are held in metal tins, while the final five are in round glass jars.

Samuel
was
one
of
the
directors
of
the
syndicate,
and
his
job
was
to
gather
investment
from
overseas.
The
syndicate
sunk
wells
from
Moturoa
out
to
Omata,
but
the
most
successful
wells
were
those
clustered
around
the
Hongihongi
Stream
at
Honeyfield’s
Farm
in
Moturoa.
The
number
3
well
was
the
most
successful
for
Samuel’s
syndicate.
