View of many ships anchored and tied up at wharves in a large harbour, possibly Alexandria. Several narrow boats filled with piles of what may be coal are tied up at a wharf in the foreground. A group of men are gathered beside and on these boats. Part of a ship is visible on the extreme right of the frame. Soldiers can be seen at the railing of this ship.
