Credit line
A set of oil and bore samples from Oliver Samuel’s oil drilling syndicate, from the Herekawe bore. Oliver Samuel was one of the directors of the syndicate, and his job was to gather investment from overseas. The syndicate sunk wells from Moturoa out to Omata, but the most successful wells were those clustered around the Hongihongi Stream at Honeyfield’s Farm in Moturoa, such as the number 4 bore. The number 3 well was the most successful for Samuel’s syndicate. These particular samples are from near the Herekawe stream.
