Lizard, Shingle-Back
Description
A stout lizard, with short legs and a stumpy tail. The lizard is olive green and brown on its back, and is scaly. The belly of the lizard is creamy yellow with some pale brown scales. The lizard has been stitched together through its abdomen and there is a nail protruding from the top of its head.

names
than
any
other
lizard
on
the
planet,
inspired
by
its
unusual
appearance!
Also
known
as
a
pinecone
lizard
because
of
its
roughly
triangular
scales,
or
the
stumpy-tailed
lizard
for
fairly
obvious
reasons,
this
reptile
is
common
through
much
of
Australia.
How
this
particular
specimen
made
it
to
New
Plymouth
is
unfortunately
unknown.
