Description
View of smoking ruins on the corner of Devon and Egmont Streets, New Plymouth following a fire. Debris spills out into the street. This fire destroyed the Theatre Royal and other buildings on the Devon-Egmont-King-Queen Streets block. Groups of spectators, some with bicycles, are looking on. Tram lines can be seen in Devon and Egmont Streets. The skyline is crisscrossed with power lines and poles. Undamaged buildings can be seen in the distance.
