Dr George Home

Description
Bust portrait of Dr George Home. Home is wearing a dark-tone jacket and waistcoat over a white shirt and tie. He has a thick moustache.

Home was born in the USA and grew up in South Taranaki. He was a medical doctor in New Plymouth, served as a doctor in WWI and was a founding member of the New Plymouth Rotary Club. The photograph is likely to have been taken after he graduated from the University of Otago in 1892 and took up a position as a resident assistant house surgeon at Liverpool Northern Hospital and before he returned to New Zealand in 1898.
