Copy photograph of Lieutenant John C. Edward Doveton, 50th Regiment.
Doveton was severely wounded in battle at Rangiaohia on 22nd February 1864. The photograph is a portrait bust. Doveton is wearing a suit jacket and has a long moustache. He is looking off to his right. The photograph is included on page 37 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
