Description
Copy photograph of 16 members of the 43rd Regiment, 1866. Included in the group is Captain Berners (wounded at Te Ranga), Captain Money, Colonel Hammick and Captain Bateman. The men are all wearing military uniform. They are all standing except for one man at the front who is seated on a chair with his legs crossed. Several of the men are holding their swords in front of them. They are positioned in front of a brick building with a sash window behind them. The photograph is included on page 36 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
