 Description
Coal Oil (New Zealand) Ltd were an Australian based firm who entered the hunt for oil in Taranaki. They sank only one well, the Omata No 1 in 1930-1931. Maps show the area that was surveyed by Kelvin Day and Max Stevenson in December 1979.
