Copy photograph of Captain Arthur R. Close, 43rd Regiment. Close was killed in battle at Warea on 28th July 1865. The photograph is a portrait bust and shows Close wearing a dark jacket. He is looking off to his right. Close has a moustache and sideburns. The photograph is included on page 34 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
