Copy photograph of Lieutenant Colonel Henry Jackson Parkin Booth, 43rd Regiment. Booth was born in 1830. He served with the 43rd Regiment in Africa and India before serving in New Zealand where he was mortally wounded at Gate Pa in 29th April 1864. He died the following day. Booth is shown standing with a cane in his right hand. He is wearing a dark coat over a light waistcoat and trousers. He has a moustache and full sideburns. The photograph is included on page 32 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
