Copy photograph of Ensign Andrew Ducrow, 40th Regiment. Ducrow entered service in January 1861 and was mortally wounded in battle at Rangiriri on 20th November 1863, aged 21 years. Ducrow is standing with his right arm resting on a pedestal with a curtain hanging behind it. He is wearing a dark jacket and trousers with long boots. A hat with the number 40 on it is sitting on the pedastal. The photograph is included on page 30 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
