"Puniho revisited"

Production date
1999
Description
Multi-coloured relief print depicting an aerial view of the Pūniho area near Ōkato, Taranaki. The print shows an intersection of two roads amidst farmland. Houses and other buildings are nestled amongst the farmland and some road signs are also visible. There is a yellow orb, perhaps a sun, emerging from the upper right hand corner of the artwork. The scene is rendered in blue, green, brown, black, red, white, yellow and purple inks. The print is part of Carter's road series for which he would walk along a road with his sketch pads and make drawings recording the shapes and features of the land. The many drawings were then condensed into single artworks that give composite aerial views of his journey.
