Credit line
This tin of zinc ointment is from Leary's Pharmacy in Palmerston North. Richard Leary established his pharmacy business in in 1875, and built his own building in 1885. Leary ran the business until his death in 1901, when one of his employees took over the management. This zinc cream is one of the many products produced by the pharmacy, in the days where pharmacists mixed the majority of their own medication. Zinc ointment is used for skin irritations, sunburn and is particularly helpful for nappy rash, as it encourages the skin to speed up its healing processes.
