Photograph album documenting the sporting history of Stan Betts. Betts was the first Taranaki hockey player to be selected for the New Zealand team and was also heavily involved in Cricket. He was a descendant of Henry and Charlotte Betts who settled in Okaiawa in 1883. The album contains 55 silver gelatin prints, 15 chromogenic colour prints, 3 newspaper clippings, 1 photocopy and 4 badges. It documents a range of sporting events from the 1920s onwards including cricket matches between Taranaki and Fiji, Australia and India as well as provincial matches, and the Taranaki, Kaponga and Hawera hockey teams. There are also several photographs at the back relating to Jean Betts, Stan Betts' wife and their involvement with the Vogeltown Bowling Club. The album has a faded blue cover with "PHOTOGRAPHS" embossed in gold and "SPORT" written in black and white on the front. The inside cover has a printout detailing Betts' cricket history. The album is annotated throughout.
