Copy photograph of Captain George Buck, 14th Regiment. Buck was killed in battle at Te Ngutu o te Manu in South Taranaki on September 7th 1868. Buck is wearing a dark tone jacket and trousers. He is standing with his right hand on the back of a carved chair with his hat resting on the seat of the chair. The photograph is included on page 24 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
