This pin was awarded to Donald Brash, who worked for Ivon Watkins-Dow Limited. It is likely it was awarded for 10 years of service. Don was a well-known member of the Oakura community, and was awarded the Queen's Service Medal for services to his community in 2009. He was involved with the Red Cross, Lifeline and the Oakura Probus Club. He remembers having regular conversations with the other Don Brash during his time as the company secretary for Ivon Watkins-Dow, when the politician was the Reserve Bank's Governor. Don worked for IWD for 30 years as their secretary.
