Description
Five girls are posed in Dutch-style costumes in a studio-style setting. Three of the girls wear costumes consisting of short skirts with aprons, short-sleeved blouses, dark-tone vests and Dutch bonnets. The other two girls wear long voluminous trousers with short jackets over shirts, neck ties and tall caps. Standing in the back row are, from left to right, Shirley Marcroft, Merla Morris, Kathleen Watt and Noelene Trotter. Seated on the floor in the front is Betty Richards. The girls are in costume for "Dutch Windmill Land," a dance they performed as part of the Opunake Patriotic Concert on 27 May 1940.
