Korowai
Description
Rectangular shaped korowai flaring slightly wider towards the base. Un-dyed muka body using the whatu ahorua knot method with dyed brown muka tassel over the body area and continuous brown tassels along the top edge forming a fringe. Black, yellow and white taaniko along bottom edge using cotton and coloured wool? The taaniko is unravelling in areas creating gaps in the pattern. Other decorative wavy/zigzag patterns created by a double row of brown muka on the main body area above the taaniko and at intervals up the side edges. Muka handles attached at the top row for securing the ends while being worn.
