All Blacks Capping Commemorative Book

Production date
11 Jun 2010
Description
A commemorative book for an All Blacks capping ceremony held at the TSB Showplace, 11 June 2010. The event was a part of a series of special capping ceremonies carried out across New Zealand in 2010.
Early All Black history saw a player's first appearance in a Test match rewarded with a Test cap. The tradition of capping lapsed after WWII, leaving more the 400 players cap-less until the tradition was resumed in 1997. In December 2008, the NZ Rugby Union announced the launch of an initiate to cap all uncapped Test All Blacks by 2011. This ceremony saw the capping of 17 Test All Blacks from the Taranaki region.
