Documents pertain to a case filed by The Public Trustee as the executor of the will of Barleyman, deceased, against a stipendiary magistrate (Kenrick) and a farmer (Montefiore) regarding a previous court case involving a breach of agreement of lease for land in the Kaupokonui Survey District. The defendant (Montifiore) counterclaimed for rebate of rent. The second defendant in this case (Kenrick) was the judge in the first case and ordered a non-suit allegedly before the plaintiff could present all of his evidence.
