Description
Ambrotype portrait of Mrs Caroline Foote (nee Hamblyn), wife of Charles William Foote, seated with a child on her lap. The ambrotype is hand tinted on the skin of the subjects, the child's dress and a gold wedding ring has been painted on Mrs Foote's hand. The black backing behind the image is fabric. Housed in an embossed leather case with an ornate embossed metal matt. The lid of the case is missing.
